Hello,

I shall make my question straightfoward.

my car is currently still on finance. Is it possible to drive it into malaysia for a few days (for touristic purpose) with a simple copy of the blue book (but without the actual original one, thats held by the bank)?

if anyone has ever experienced a similar situation i would appreciate some enlightened opinions.

thanks :)

I drive into Malaysia all the time. But, you either need a clear title or a letter from the finance dept. I am pretty sure.

Go to your bank and inquire about it. They should be able to tell you for sure.

you'll need a 'car passport' , it's official name is 'international transport permit', issued by your local transport department, to just get OUT of thailand. to get it, you need to own your car and be in the possession of the 'blue book', which, i understand, is being held by your finance company. so, they are your first port of call.
