SURAT THANI: -- Surat Thani governor Wongsasiri Phromchana made a flying visit to Than Sadet beach on Koh Pangan yesterday and still found many people encroaching on parkland.

A case against a man who had set up a 29 room resort and restaurant is currently with the court but the governor found that this operation was not fully shut down and others were breaking the law in the area, reported Thairath.

Transport operators were bringing visitors into an area that was supposedly off limits.

He called for urgent meetings to address the problem of encroachment in the area.

Because corruption is ingrained in Thai society, no laws are enforceable. No credible role models. Third world and always will be

They will only stop it when they can put an end to the rampant corruption.

Some government officials think getting bulging envelopes is part of the job.
