Advice On Holiday Accommodation In Phuket

Hi everyone I'm new to this so apologies if I make any mistakes? :o

Myself & husband are visiting Thailand next January - February 2007 as a 50th birthday treat. :D

We are touring through various areas & will be ending our holiday with approx 10 days of relaxation 3rd-13 Feb in Phuket. I was hoping to book a modest self catering apartment with a communal pool but close to one of the beach areas & other amenities (restaurants, shops, etc) I am fairly flexible on the area but I DO NOT want to be in Phuket Town or Pantong Beach. My budget is a maximum of 2,000 baht per day. Can anyone suggest or recommend the best way to find something?

Many thanks in anticipation of any help? Gilly

Hi Gilly

There are very few self catering establishments on Phuket.

Otherwise try The Kata Villas located opposite the southern end of Karon beach. No self catering facilities although excellent inexpensive restaurant, swimming pool and 1 minute to the beach. Cheaper than 2000 baht per day. You can book via ther website at www.katavilla.com/

Alternatively the Ruam Thep Inn which is directly on Karon beach, no swimming pool but meters from the swimming area in the sea. Price around 1 800 baht per day. For reservations you can call the owner Khun Mui at 076 330281/2.

Hope this helps.

I have an English friend who has a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom bungalow on a small complex near Ya Nui Beach, Rawai. The complex has a communal pool, restaurant, internet and maid service. He rents it for 1600 per day not including electric. If your interested in further details please PM me.
