My apologies if this has been covered (probably on numerous occasions) in previous posts.

Several years ago my then Thai gf applied for a tourist visa to enter Australia.  We submitted the application personally at the Thai CC Tower near Surasak BTS.  I am of the understanding now that this is no longer the case.  Can someone please verify of correct me.  I am of the impression that applications are now lodged at a VFS office in the city of your preferred choice.  I read that the Bangkok VFS is located in Sukhumvit Soi 13. Having said that, I have also read the office was in a different location. Once again can someone in the know point me in the right direction,  Thanks in advance

Visitor Visas (Subclass e600) can be applied for online - no need to visit VFS.  Supporting documents are scanned and uploaded, payment is by credit card and the decision is communicated via e-mail.  Australia no longer issues visa vignettes (stickers) for tourist visas - if the visa is granted, the applicant's passport details are stored in a database and verified electronically at check-in and again at the point of entry.

If you wish to lodge your application in person, you can do so at the Australian Visa Application Centres in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.  These are operated by VFS Global and you will need to pay their service charge in addition to the visa fee.
