Living on Soi 4 Phra Tam Nak without transport?

Featured Replies

Is it viable?

Saw a very nice condo advertised up there at good price, but I am well aware of the height of the hill.

Is there now regular baht bus service to Pattaya or Jomptien ( there didn't used to be ) or only "taxi"rate?

Are there any supermarkets around that don't involve hill climbing?

Thanks.

There has long been a baht bus service to Chom Tien, from the corner of Pattaya Tai and Tha Phraya. 10 baht. You would have to get off at the traffic lights at Tha Phraya and Phra Tam Nak and walk down the Phra Tam Nak road in order to get to Soi 4. So the only hill you would come across is Soi 4 itself. You would stay on the baht bus(from Pattaya) a minute longer in order to reach the supermarket(Foodmart).

Yensabai is a bit more convenient in terms of getting to Friendship supermarket. Phra Tam Nak nicer for the beach.

That norwegian group are building a supermarket in the middle of soi 5.

No doubt another building in that hideous orange that seems to be the company colour.

Thanks.

It's getting near high season, so I'm looking for other options that may be available if good ones closer to Pattaya beach are full.

There's motocy taxis and taxi (non) meter vehicles along the soi or walk to the main junction with the songthaew route between Pattaya and Jomtien
