Wall Insulation, Best Advice?

The mother in law has a slightly ramshackle but basically solid house in Khon Kaen. It is a standard concrete block base & all wood upstairs. Hubby has been slowly adding little touches like tiles to the floors downstairs & replacing the wiring for the electrics but next year we want to go all out & insulate the inside wooden walls upstairs & then plasterboard it all out before skimming & painting the walls. We are hoping this will create some kind sound proofing (at present you can hear anything outside as only one layer of overlapping wood) & also the amount of bugs in the upstairs is ridiculous.

Can anyone advise on a good, fairly low budget inner wall cavity insulation material. And also if there are any issues that may occur with using it. We would also be looking to use it between the upstairs floor (which is the downstairs ceiling) as we also want to add ceiling panels & create a flat ceiling instead of the wooden beams supporting the upstairs floor. Also do any of these insulation materials come with pre added bug repelant?

Any advice on how to do this & the best materials would be very welcome.

Cheers

Because I am not supposed post links, figure it out and contact the above co.

As far as their prices I have no clue. I am only aware of the company.

thaicoolcell is in bangkok and offer termal insulation. My wife called them the last week - they quoted 400 baht/m2, sprayed insulation a little more than the boards (installation included).

the best is to find a local supplier - every builder should know them.

you need more the sound insulation than the termal one (this one is put only on the ceiling just below the roof) - plasterboard inside might be enough and allow the air flow between the walls and cool the ouside wall.

Insulation on the upper surface of the ceiling is more important than doing the walls to lower the temperature.

A possible problem with applying plasterboard and creating an enclosed hollow is that bugs, rodents, and moisture can enter from outside and remain in the wall. If I were to add plasterboard I would first make a thorough effort to effectively block all cracks and holes in the wood siding and then place some sort of insect and moisture barrier covering the wood on the inside...perhaps plastic sheeting or tar paper...I don't know if tar paper is available in Thailand.
