One of the annoyances of the new forum SW is this simple editor that I see on "very most" occasions.

From "time to time" (right now when writing this OP) I see this extended editor.

(when using "Report post" it seems to come up always)

I haven't found a setting or a pattern when this extended editor comes up.

I hate this simple editor. Too primitive.

Bump.

No idea what the matter is with these two types of editor?

Compared to the previous forum SW I find it major drawback that for posting this simple editor comes up.

Just now tried this: sign out.

"Forget the website" with Firefox (deletes all cookies, site data etc.).

And now I see the extended editor.

Knock on wood it will persist.

Font style does not change? Intended?

Courier? No.

Just bumping.

Seeing the full featured editor was short lived.

Since long I got accustomed (sustain it) to that simple editor.

It happens on Firefox as well as on Chrome.

When I browse through the topics/posts I very rarely see formatted text (size, style etc.).

Do posters just don't care for?

And still:

when I use "Report post" I always get the full featured editor.

I've found similar, can be very annoying. As I am making this post the full editor is showing.

Edit -Now I have re opened it to edit, the simple editor is showing. Can't change size, colour or font which I need to do quite often.

When I write a post or a PM, I have the extended menu available. When I edit a post, within the time limit allowed for this action, I get the short menu. I find this quite satisfactory, since it is my fault that I did not use the additional functions offered by the extended menu when I originally wrote the post.

Just made a "chance find".

Simple or extended editor changes depending on the zoom view factor in the browser.

Currently Firefox shows 133% (on my 1280*1024 screen) and extended editor.

Test:

Currently Firefox shows 133% (on my 1280*1024 screen) and extended editor.

120%: simple editor.

100%: extended editor (and I need a magnifying glass).

"Funny" stuff.

That I created multiple posts was not intended.

I am quite certain that I only used the "Edit" button.

But that's worth another research.

The editor attributes are controlled via CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) in a scheme known as "Responsive", where the page elements are rendered differently depending on available display area and font size.

You should be able to see the same changes occur then you change the browser window size.

Mostly used to provide better readability for mobile platforms.
