Trenching machine.

Featured Replies

Need to buy or hire a small trenching machine so I can lay plastic pipe in for drips to fruit trees.

Think by hand not feasable. Anybody seen them, just to dig 6 inches wide by 6 inches deep.

I know exactly what you are lookking for but alas I have never seen one in Chiang Mai or surrounds.  I think most people just hire  a few Thai Yais for a day or two and its all done.  Not sure who provides the shovel/spades or picks but then I suppose its the employers problem?

Whats sort of distance are you looking at for the trenching?

That's nothing. My friend has a guy who is over 70 years old who can do all that on a 3-rai plot.

Don't underestimate the power of "by hand" here.

Is that the big Thai Yai guy that lives in Mae Rim?

Perhaps not but you are correct there are some real workers around and my inclination is usually to pay them rather than rent or buy a machine.  But being able to talk to them really helps.
