Hello!

I am almost 19 years old Finnish boy who is going to visit Thailand for the first time in my life and going to stay there one month.

I was wondering..

What if I decide to stay longer than a month? Maybe another month? Where how and what does it cost to get a visa for another 30 days to stay in Thailand? As far  as I know I don't need a visa for the first month at all.

Thank you very much for help!  :o

For visa free entry you must have onward air transportation out of Thailand within 30 days.  If you decide to extend your stay you would have to exit the country and enter again, either by air or land border.  It would probably make sense for you to get yourself a regular tourist visa which would allow you entry for 60 days and could be extended if wanted.  They do not cost that much and you have plenty of time.

Yes, I'm sorry but I have no time to contact Finland Thai Consulate.

I was thinking of getting a visa from Thailand?

I will arrive to Thailand 26th of this month.

Then you must arrive with a confirmed 30 days return or onward ticket. You can extend your stay with 10 extra days at the Immigration. After that you MUST leave the Kingdom. Hope you have time for that..., otherwise you will go overstay @ 200 Baht/day.

Hmmmm....

If this is the case then I must contact the Finnish Thai consulate.

Even though it is 300km's away from my town and I have to send my passport through mail...

Overstay is sometimes not just 200 baht a day BUT a possibility of a vist to the Prison and then a deportation to your home country depends on the immigration officer.......Don't Risk it!!!

You could get a 30 day visa on entry and just check out the local travel agents for an escorted border run ( usaually about 10 other people doing the same as you are) and at your age 19 it will be a good experience and you get another 30 days legal and something you can remember what to do next time you need an extention.

Check visa regulations for Finland.

Finnish passport holders can stay for up to 90 days.

But check.

stevebkk,

In the past (long ago!) Finland, Sweden and a couple of other countries passport holders got 90 days on arrival, but not any longer.

Finnish passport holders get 30 days tourist visa on arrival.

Complete country list:

You can stay in Thailand 30 days without a visa. If you want to stay another 30 days you'll have to get a tourist visa. By leaving the country 4 times and then coming back you can stay 6 months. You don't have to do anything but just go to Thailand's border, cross it and then come back.

With non-immigrant visa you can stay 90days.

Non-immigrant visa: 90 days you don't have to leave the contry.

Tourist visa: 60 days you dont' have to leave the country.

Tourist visa 6 months: you'll have to leave the country 4 times and then come back.
