Are you from Monaco or Belgium ? If so you can't do the "consul thing" in CM as both countries don't operate a consulate here.

"The consul thing".... Care to elaborate? Because to get married you just go to the local district office (amphur) and do the paperwork.

Getting a marriage recognized in your own country would indeed require a trip to your embassy or consulate, but different rules apply to different nations.

I suggest you contact your consulate/embassy and ask.

When I got married we went to a company next to the US Consulate called Star Visa - for a small fee they did all the paperwork and legwork.
