BANGKOK: -- A fake passport racket uncovered in a raid by police, who also found a dismembered body in a freezer in a Bangkok house, has drawn the interest of the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), sources say.

 

Three men arrested in the house on Sept 23 had several fake passports, which were provided by a Pakistani national now jailed in Thailand, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

 

The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said 61-year-old Babu Rafiq, arrested in Bangkok in April last year, had been told to provide the fake passports by someone in Pakistan whom security agencies believe may be the racket's kingpin.

These (police) guys must be asleep if not stupid.The fake passports are openly on sale and on offer in few places in Jakarta,Kuala Lumpur BKK now and I suspect started in SaiGon too?

I've heard of many forged things (international journalists accreditation, for one) being obtained discretely (not openly) in places such as Khao San Rd. But passports being sold OPENLY? No, no way - that would draw massive reaction from other countries.

What do you think the word "openly" means? North Korea has been caught out so many times by so many different intelligent groups that acknowledge that Kim and his organizations are better than most anyone else at forgery of money, passports, any official document with value that can be sold, etc, yet they seem overlooked by many.

 

They may be the ones doing the teaching to the others to generate foreign currency to fund the high dollar items for kim's personal consumption.

They will hold him in a private prison cell and he will be subjected to a continuous stream of Thai television comedy shows and Thai TV soap operas and leave him alone with only a  knife.

In a relatively short period of time he will turn suicidal and relieve society of the burden he has created while the police will have exacted an unusual and particularly sadistic form of punishment upon him...lol.......known to be worse than the Chinese water drip on the forehead.

I rarely go there but on kao sarn road they sell all kinds of faux official documents...i guess if you show them a pile of $$ they might be able to help you or know somebody who can. I don't understand why Thailand let's them sell all that because it gives the country a very bad name internationally.
