Whatever i put in, no results. Think we are over the initial teething problems of the new upgrade. are amateurs running the site?

Examples?

I tried two terms I used today and it worked:

Soi Africa

orange colored

To search for my stuff I use advanced search like this example that works:

Interestingly:

if I use this "Khon Kaen transfer stamp" in the normal search (without the author) it WON'T find anything.

That's weird. Pants as the OP writes

The term is evaluated by the search function to:

Khon+Kaen+transfer+stamp

looking like an AND expression which should still work?

It's not a secret: I normally use google to search like:

Khon Kaen transfer stamp site:thaivisa.com

(which shows more results than wanted, as the "author" (me) is not specified)

Just simple searches that i used before the upgrade that worked fine, too numerous to mention. Certain doctors in Bangkok, what people think of ISPs in Pattaya, pretty run of the mill stuff.

Like you i get far more success from Google throwing in thai visa at the end. One on the forum is a dead loss, or pants as described.

Use Google instead . Thaivisa will not be back to "perfect" for a long time.

The old search system worked well. Can't get much success with the new one. Threads that I know should turn up in search just give no results.

Yea, the new search function don't return nearly as many or accurate results as the old search function....also seems to only return recent stuff where previously it would return results on topics/posts several years old also.  You can do better by going to google and initiating the search and just include ThaiVisa as one of the search terms.

I don't get it, a website/forum getting income from sponsors/advertising and simple things like the classifieds have been down for months..... if the owner can't be arsed, he should sell it to someone who can.

I had to search Google for the slang meaning of "pants".

" In the UK "Pants" typically refers to underwear. (Where it is also a slang term for "bad". As in "That's pants".) In other parts of the world, notably the USA, "pants" refers to trousers."
