Harsh? I'm not commenting on his grasp of the English language. History covers all languages..esp one where millions died, to not know those dates has nothing to do with it. I guessed he was from the continent from his name.  Oh and he was being nasty to begin with.....so there. ?

I am fully with you on this:
one where millions died.
This should never happen again.
What can be better if all countries work together.

I am sorry about this.
But this Brexit whining hurts.
Like there are some s
teal the money from UK people.
Here some EU programms for all europe countrys:
http://www.welcomeurope.com/list-european-funds.html
The money that is paid by the EU members, and how it is used is policy of all states.
The UK government has also approved it.
It is annoying for me to pretend that there is an over-governed power that determines everything.
This is bull shit.

It's only the people who don't want to leave that are moaning and whining. I was one of them. God I wish we could just leave today and be done with it. Pay the bill and get a deal and move on.

Or or just change our minds and stay. So bloody fed up with it.

I supported the Scots who wanted to leave the UK,

Bringing the rest of the UK into the referendum would be an entirely new dynamic as I consider the first referendum flawed in that it disenfranchised 85% of the UK.

Why should I support a second or a third or a fourth referendum on leaving the EU, nothing has regarding that has changed.

I think you find that English is his native tongue.

All of his posts on other threads are in grammatically perfect English.

Only these few are in broken English as if trying to look like a Johnny Foreigner.

Scheisse!

I still do not understand how his command of English has gone from perfect to broken in one thread.

You can be in the single market but not the customs union. However the up coming Pan Euro Med customs union may be a solution

I suggest the EFTA/EEA solution if we must be seen to leave the EU

We can have our own fisheries and agriculture policies. Retain membership of the single market and PEMCM woul probably resolve the customs union issue and give access to an 800M market to boot!

What's not to like?

Personally, I wouldn't bother leaving but the above would work don't you think?

http://www.efta.int/eea/policy-areas/goods/customs-trade-facilitation/customs-matters

To clear up some issues - Janet and John do business in Europe .....

http://www.bbc.com/news/business-36083664

Worth looking at the history of EFTA....

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Free_Trade_Association

retain? or renew?

seems to me you are suggesting the possibility of UK entering EFTA while still a full member of the EU

and then magically entering the EEA treaty at the same time UK exits the EU instruments

asking a bit too much I think, but I am not from Yorkshire, just enjoy the craic

note that leaving EU and its instruments, approaching EFTA, and entering the EEA treaty are 3 distinct events

You should be more stoic my friend!

We are strong hearted and resolute - men of iron (well, some of us Yorkshiremen are)!

WE not Germany or France should and could have been leaders!

We should have taken the EU by the horns and made it fly!

We had a referendum. We voted to leave the EU together with all that this implied.

If you accept the remain beliefs (which the majority do not) then we are led to believe that information regarding what happens afterwards was withheld. Whose fault is that? If the remain campaign was lacking in information, remainers only have themselves to blame.

Now think of what else could have happened.

Had Labour won the election, we would have given just about everything including the 100 billion euros and the kitchen sink to the EU just to be able to trade and also be under EU law. The UK would have been reduced to a vassal state. A fate worse than staying in the EU.

So before all of you remain voters continue to criticise TM and run down the UK, just remember that we could have been the first subservient colony of a super state called the EU on it's way to world domination by Brussels under German leadership.

'...with all that this implied'. Just Hard Brexiteer assumptions masquerading as fact.

Say's you sitting over in Asia while the EU under German domination finally do what they always wanted, control Europe.

The only fly in the ointment here is that the rapidly growing Muslim population may just change all of this and Europe will become an Islamic State.

If you do not see this then think America where 25 years ago you would be laughed out of the room for saying that Hispanics would become the dominant ethnic culture in America but already they are in three States and growing fast in the others. The U.S. Census projects Hispanics to account for a full 65% of the nation’s population growth over the next 45 years. This means the U.S. Hispanic population will more than double, adding 62 million people, and will reach more than 119 million people by 2060.

Wrong as usual.

We are a sovereign country, The United Kingdom. The EU (for now) is a collection of separate countries although you may think it is one big Republic of Germany.

Or in other words, a socialist Union of countries.

Not literally a facist dictatorship however it is going the wrong way.

Just ask Bulgaria and Greece how well they get treated when the EU top table crack the whip.

Even the EU lapdog Macron is calling for reform, who's he trying to kid.

There used to be a Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and a British Commonwealth, and whatever the Spanish called their Empire, etc, etc.  The European Union is just another version of these prior incarnations - all of which failed, but without harming the "members......

Right?

Sweet, the EU is not a country (yet).

Jeesus, don't you love it when a whacky American gets involved in a discussion on UK politics?

Germany is highly unlikely, at least in our lifetimes, to openly proclaim itself ruler of Europe. It seems to be perfectly happy for now manipulating from (partially) behind the scenes. Though it is 'letting slip' more and more as it comes under pressure from both brexit and Trump.

Seems like the Conspiracy Theory Hard Brexiteers have more or less abandoned any nuance vis a vis the Btexit negotiations in favour of turning it all into a bogus re-run of WW2.

EFTA (only) countries are not in the EU but they have to pay a contribution, accept free movement of people and partial ECJ law.

It's up to the EU if they want to allow the UK a "special relationship" or any access to their single market or customs union.

If you leave the EU you leave the single market. How many times does this have to go through the washer?

"EFTA (only) countries are not in the EU" - exactly what the ballot paper asked. Anything else is speculative interpretation.

A decision to leave the EU was taken, there was no vote to leave the single market. Despite what you may think, one does not mean the other, just ask the EFTA countries.

As for stabbing in the back, it was the English that did that to my fellow countrymen, not me.

You have made many pathetic comments on this thread. But this beats the lot.

When did the English stab you in the back? presumably when you were living in Sheffield. Or was that when they were trying to chop the chip off your shoulder.

The Brexiters are getting really discombobulated . They'll be stabbing May in the front next!
