Rapist-murderer condemned to death

PHITSANULOK: -- The Phitsanulok provincial court dismissed the confession of a rapist-murderer as unuseful and condemned him to death for raping and killing a 14-year old girl.

A neighbor of the victim, 46-year old Son Hoompiang went to the house of the victim’s parents to borrow a charger. Upon seeing the victim wearing shorts, he admitted he was sexually aroused and verbally molested the girl who rejected his rude approach.

The two engaged in a quarrel and, in a fit of anger, Son grabbed a rope and strangled the girl to death and then raped her. After the crime, he hid in a maize plantation about three kilometres from the crime scene but was arrested the following day.

Non deserved quick death from a bullet.

He won't see the death penalty and will probably be free in a few years for good behaviour and free to repeat it all over again.

At last some justice for the parents

And this is why I keep a 55 kg Rottie in the garden, too many sex cases in this (and other) country to not cover as many bases as possible.

Are you drunk?

Too bad they don't show the executions on tv,

Who knows it could become as popular as a Thai soap

I think I'd rather face the death penalty than endure a Thai soap

....a long way to go......

...but at least one savage has been stopped...unless they change their minds....

I sure would

No one has been put to death here for seven years now. Despite the court's ruling it will be unlikely that this case will buck the trend. Even Amnesty International consider that countries that have not used the death penalty for ten years effectively do not have it any more.

And what executions might they be?

What is the normal form of execution in Thailand? Being forced to serve drinks in a karaoke bar for as long as it takes? being forced to use only pedestrian crossings in Bangkok? F/time duty at the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation post at Full Moon parties?

The ones that are supposed to follow the death penalty sentence

:sorry:  TIT it wont happen

A bit disturbed about that much nonsense in the thread.

Death sentences are given in Thailand but no executions have taken place for many many years.

Last were by shooting machine gun?

If you have the need to know about cruel execution practice in Thailand you have to go back about 100 years and more.

Finally the corpse given to some carrion eating birds/animals (don't remember the details).

(the final abasement of not doing cremation).

You're welcome to your opinion but in my estimation execution by gun or beheading is not cruel. It's a damned sight more merciful than the way their victims died.

I agree if you compare with some of the "modern" methods and the electric chair.

Just that the ancient Thai method had it's cruel side ceremonies, lengthy, public spectacle, no blindfolding etc.

" Upon seeing the victim wearing shorts, he admitted he was sexually aroused  " this plus the I am Thai defence - he may yet get the sentence reduced to 2 years suspended for 5 years.

good riddance...

NO. You are supposed to say how barbaric the death penalty is, how everyone deserves human rights and you just lower yourself to their level.

NO. Some people just deserve being executed. Like men that rape, torture and kill [not always in that particular order] young children. And this guy fits the bill. It is just unfortunate that Thailand isn't executing condemned prisoners these days.
