I was a little 'fed up' with the rate at which the maid seemed to go through irons and how long she takes to actually complete the ironing ...  electric meter receives quite a hammering each time. Having said that the ironing does turn out pristine.

So, Mrs J said that we should buy one of those 'super irons' whatever that is. We trot off to HomePro and see one ( a GV8962) on offer at 19900thb! some 4000thb cheaper that the catalogue price. So whilst Mrs J gets the 'lowdown' on it, I have  'little sit down' just to digest what I appear to be agreeing to. Outcome is that we will see the seller at the show on Friday (today).

Today with HomePro Member Discount and for paying by Credit Card Mrs J says it reduces to 17609thb but we get some freebees. When I find out what these freebees are I am quite surprised ... see pic.

A Coffee Maker and box of coffee thingies to use with it ... my become a novelty after a while ... but maybe wrong, have been many times apparently!

A Tefal  Sandwich Toaster  ... may end up as a present but who knows ....

A Pair of Weighing Scales ... will be used until they break

A Ironing Board ... not exactly a cheap one either ... that will be useful

What did I buy for myself ... an LKS Fat Bike and a couple of Black Shirts .... Looked at Golf Drivers (so did MrsJ) but luckily dragged myself and her away just in time!  If I had waited until the 23rd the Bike would have been 1000thb cheaper.

So if you want to get rid of some thai baht, there could be the place to do just that .....

Did you get the tefal ironboard with it? It's a set. But Tefal in thailand is very low quality unlike in Europe where it's also much cheaper.

We got a Mamaru blender as freebee one day, it was a great thing but noisy. After 4 years we bought a new Tefal blender which was broken after 2 times using it. Went back and had to make many problems to get a refund, Central even couldn't speak english AT ALL.

Yes it's on the left of the picture. Also got some pan set which I found after I took the picture. The scales were actually 'a gift' from HomePro itself for spending a silly amount of money.

The scales appear to also measure your %age fat and hydration level ... haven't worked out which reading is which yet though.

Now I know why they gave us the coffee maker ... the little 'thingees' to put in it are not that cheap and it won't be long before we have spent more on them than the cost of the item itself.

Yes ... probably should have gone Electrolux like other bits we have ... I quite often find just 'nodding'  is the way to be ............

@fruitman My Dutch isn't wonderful (ok, non-existent), is it really free international shipping to Thailand? Don't forget duty plus VAT is payable on arrival in Thailand.

By the way JAS, didn't you say that we were mad when we bought the same beastie last year? It does work really well mind, and no danger of burning holes in anything :)

here are more shops who sell it but they cost a little more...bet i can find one who ships to Thailand...also than it would be 20% cheaper for the VAT-return i guess.

ebay.de is germany, let it search for the GV8962 and you'll find many vendors.
