BANGKOK: -- Four senior police officers of Huay Kwang police station were ordered transferred to the operations centre of Metropolitan Police Bureau for 30 days allegedly for their failure to stop illegal gambling in their precinct.

The abrupt transfer ordered on Sunday by Pol Lt-Gen Sanit Mahathavorn, metropolitan police commissioner, followed the raid of a night spot in Huay Kwang district on Saturday by a military force on Saturday night.

The night spot was partially turned into an illegal gambling den.

The entire country understands how corrupt and bad the RTP..and the RTA are.....I think these snippets of bad cop news, are intended to assume they are isolated cases.

So, be a person whose job it is stop crime but whom commits crime, and you get moved to in inactive position. Be a regular Joe whose job has nothing to do with law enforcement but enjoys gambling, and get kicked to death.

I also have another one about law enforcement and 40 million Baht compared to some kratom pickers.........

Theres a  few  good  ones out there but they will never  get promotion and  will be unable to say or change anything unless it starts at the VERY  top and trickles  down.............aint happening soon, too many greedy barstewards in this world.

Another example of the army showing up the police. Rumor last week that police chief was going to be replaced dismissed by general prawit. This is a dangerous road to be constantly treading down. Just look at the chaos and upheaval in Turkey and the recent events in Egypt.

Don't believe the hype. Just another musical chair routine. If Prawit is serious, put police reform top of his administration agenda. Unless he and Prayut get tough on police reform, we can conclude there are collusion to the benefit of both parties.

being moved to an inactive post, cuts deeper than you think.Imagine being on 10,000 baht a month(officially) but being able to hike it up to 50,000 with the right tickets, spot fines,Bar back handers, and all the other little perks these Dick Turpins get over a month. This allows them Mia Noi's,and all the other little luxuries, that they enjoy so much. Now imagine for 30 days, there is no more Baht being extorted and being put in the pocket.

That's why they (the powers that be)do it.They know how and where to hit the erstwhile, lazy, cops.

In the pocket,my friend,in the pocket.

In a system that is corrupt to the core, nothing will change and anyway who will change it?  There is corruption an all sides and it is just posturing for position not about fighting it.  It goes from the very top to the bottom and there is absolutely no incentive to change anything.  My brother in-law bought his promotion because that is the way you do it.  The money came from his share of the bribes and back handers he receives.  Now that he holds a more senior position his share of the goodies is larger and so it goes on.  The army has it's own system but that is just as corrupt.
