I was not answering for Chomsky, I was merely commenting that the consequence of Trump and the republicans, if they continue will be anarchy, as you questioned whether Trumps climate denial was more dangerous than anarchy. In the short-term the latter is the more imminent and dangerous in my view. I do not believe that such an outcome is pre-intended by Trump, but the embers that could result in a breakdown of certain areas of social fabric and law and order in the US are now there and a little determined 'fanning' and a bit more fuel is all it will take.

 

Isn't Chomsky more of an advocate of anarcho-syndicalism? - quite different to anarchy, some would argue a Libertarian Socialist, definitely one to chat over with the company of a good bottle of red.

 

Chomsky is correct in that Trump and his cohorts are dangerous, but I disagree with the reason why - in the short term.

The anarchist label for Trump is actually rather apt, given that he (and especially Bannon) has openly stated that he wants to "tear things down."  He's also followed this vague, general philosophy up with concrete actions such as repeatedly appointing people to head various departments of the government that those people have openly called for the destruction of in the past.
