More dangerous than anarchy?

They are introducing it !

Put the frog in a pan of boiling water and he jumps out. Put him in a pan of cold water and bring it to the boil and he won't move.

The American people are in the pan of cold water and the Republicans and Trump have lit the gas.

Well not introducing, let me re-phrase. Anarchy will be the consequence of their actions.

Well than why would Noam Chomsky not support rather than attack them? Does he not promote anarchy?

I was not answering for Chomsky, I was merely commenting that the consequence of Trump and the republicans, if they continue will be anarchy, as you questioned whether Trumps climate denial was more dangerous than anarchy. In the short-term the latter is the more imminent and dangerous in my view. I do not believe that such an outcome is pre-intended by Trump, but the embers that could result in a breakdown of certain areas of social fabric and law and order in the US are now there and a little determined 'fanning' and a bit more fuel is all it will take.

Isn't Chomsky more of an advocate of anarcho-syndicalism? - quite different to anarchy, some would argue a Libertarian Socialist, definitely one to chat over with the company of a good bottle of red.

Chomsky is correct in that Trump and his cohorts are dangerous, but I disagree with the reason why - in the short term.

Donald Trump Jacked Up His Campaign’s Trump Tower Rent Once Somebody Else Was Paying It

Office rent soared in July after Trump’s campaign began accepting donor contributions. (sub-title)

"WASHINGTON ― After bragging for a year about how cheaply he was running his campaign, Donald Trump is spending more freely now that other people are contributing ― particularly when the beneficiary is himself."

"Trump nearly quintupled the monthly rent his presidential campaign pays for its headquarters at Trump Tower to $169,758 in July, when he was raising funds from donors, compared with March, when he was self-funding his campaign, according to a Huffington Post review of Federal Election Commission filings."

"The rent jumped even though he was paying fewer staff in July than he did in March."

Do regretful trumpists deserve sympathy?

Quote

YOU SADDLED THE REST OF US WITH MISRULE AND DISASTER. OWN IT.

Feeling lost and desperate is a terrible thing. But if, out of loss and desperation, you drink 20 cold beers out of the old preparation room and smash your car into a daycare center, the judge is not going to care how lost and desperate you felt. You build your own prisons in this life. You design your own sentences.

The anarchist label for Trump is actually rather apt, given that he (and especially Bannon) has openly stated that he wants to "tear things down."  He's also followed this vague, general philosophy up with concrete actions such as repeatedly appointing people to head various departments of the government that those people have openly called for the destruction of in the past.

Except I don't recall previous Presidential Republican or Democratic nominees trash talking the Saudis. He's more like George W. Bush and Bill Clinton in breaking his promise to move the US embassy to Jerusalem.

The reference was to the gap between supposed ideals and actual policies. On that front, and with regard to Saudi Arabia, US presidents are rather consistent.

Not sure I remember any other President or candidate make reckless statements such as these and then visit the country. Even Reagan at his worst never went past "evil empire ".

It's important to not let attempts at fairness descend into being disingenuous...

See above. As for the "disingenuous" - may want to look up the word in a dictionary before hastily posting rubbish.

Trump's business network reached alleged Russian mobsters

"Trump told reporters in February: "I have no dealings with Russia. I have no deals that could happen in Russia, because we’ve stayed away."

“Yet in 2013: I have a great relationship with many Russians, and almost all of the oligarchs were in the room,” Trump said, referring to Russians who made fortunes when former Soviet state enterprises were sold to private investors."

"Five years earlier, Trump's son Donald Trump Jr. told Russian media while in Moscow  that “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross section of a lot of our assets" in places like Dubai and Trump SoHo and elsewhere in New York."

"Organizers barred journalists on Sunday from a publicly advertised event in Shanghai that offered Chinese investors the chance to get U.S. immigrant visas if they put money in a real estate project linked to the family of President Donald Trump's son-in-law."

"Guests at the event said Kushner's sister, Nicole Kushner Meyer, spoke for about 10 minutes, including about her family's humble roots."

"According to the New York Times, Meyer attended a similar event in Beijing on Saturday and told the audience of about 100 people the project "means a lot to me and my entire family".

After being fired by Trump, Sally Yates to testify on Russia

"An Obama administration official who warned the Trump White House about contacts between one of its key advisers and Russia is set to speak publicly Monday for the first time about the concerns she raised."

"Trump moved to distance himself from his former adviser's troubles Monday, tweeting that it was the Obama administration that gave Flynn "the highest security clearance" when he worked at the Pentagon."

Donald Trump's ignorance is becoming more evident with each passing day

It’s laughable when pundits try to distill a Trump doctrine from his word salad.

His own words illuminate the undeveloped space between his ears (sub-title)

"Let’s connect the dots between Donald Trump’s “tax plan”, his invitation to the murderous leader in Manila and saying he would be “honored” to meet with the dictator of North Korea."

"Human beings have thousands of years of experience with taxes and diplomacy and yet Trump lives unaware of the basic principles of government finance and international relations."

"Trump is even ignorant about his tax plan, all 100 words of it, or that it violates principles of taxation articulated by Plato, Adam Smith and many other philosophers."

Yes, any day now he will be impeached.

Finally, the media has taken the gloves off and stopped covering for him!

Trump’s war on science continues with EPA firings

"Late last week, the President and his Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt quietly fired half of the 18-member Board of Scientific Counselors, a panel that evaluates research done by EPA scientists to help government regulators create the rules that protect clean air, water and soil, among many other things."

"It's part of a larger war on science that includes a House bill that would require more industry representatives on another EPA science panel so that it's oversight of industry is more "balanced"...towards industry"

"Jan. 23: "President Trump institutes media blackout at EPA." Three days into his administration, the President barred EPA employees "from providing updates on social media or providing information to reporters."
