Featured Replies

Could anyone recommend any newer and reasonably-priced apartments in Chiang Mai for short-term rental (about a month or so) ?

Many Thanks,

Been there done that... your not going to find a place for a month... 6 months if your lucky... but one month you will be staying someplace that is more like a hotel.. and the price to match it.. .or you will be staying in a dive and over paying for the privilege. Best to look for someplace that will charge you by the week... but again you wont be getting into anything nice unless you are paying close to hotel prices.

They will say that they only rent for three months, but they will rent by the month for 1000 baht more. I'm paying 5000 for one month and moved in a couple of days ago. It's clean and just barely adequate by most standards. The bed is hard as a board.

The Huay Gaew is ok, I stayed there. But watch the electric meter!

They have it locked in a room so you can't easily check it (have to call up the caretaker).

On the last month when I checked out they padded the electricity bill outrageously.

Beware!

Oh and no cable either...

I also had minor problems when I checked out after my month's stay and a pattern of dishonesty was obvious in all my dealings with the office. However, it was cheap and convenient for one month.

try baan thai on nimanheimen. i'm not sure if they still do month to month, but they did two years ago. a quick forum search will pull up all the contact info.
