Malacca was interesting though! A lot of history there! dating back to 1600's!

Nice! Unfortunately I didn't had enough time to visit a lot more but I think whole Malaysia has a beautiful nature!

Yes,  people in Malaysia, always friendly (as anywhere in Asia. actually ! )  scenery varies as it does everywhere of course... and roads easy to drive, except KL is a bit of nightmare to navigate around! :shock1:

Malacca, still!

My impression just from the Myanmar pics is that it looks "clean" for asian standards. Not much rubbish in the streets and squares. Great pics !

Well it depends on where you are... I think we try not to take negative images of trash dumps... they are about though ...

This did not impress me at all, all to be washed down the river when river water rises... Young monks, obviously being directed from "above" in Bagan area. But some of the back streets of Yangon, were pretty messy too.

Thank you for your comment Carib. Wait for some of the next pictures.

Hope you will enjoy....

Don`t make them too messy, it will destroy my "it is cleaner thoughts".   Samuijimmy already took half...:tongue:

One out of the next series. More details to follow.

This is a typical example of what can be seen on the banks of one of the main rivers. When the water level is low everyone deposits their rubbish at the banks. After the rainy season everything has gone and all looks clean again.

Myanmar – Mandalay (a walk on the jetty along the Ayeyarwaddy River).

When in Mandalay one of my favorite things to do is having a stroll on the jetty along the Ayeyarwaddy River. It’s a stretch of (say) 3 km where all the cargo ships with destination Mandalay are loading and unloading.

When walking there It’s like moving in a time machine. What you see is transportation in it’s purest form just as it was done over a long period of time. Nothing has changed.

Loads of small wooden ships and barges along the riverside. All goods are transported in a traditional way i.e. in bulk, boxes, crates, drums and so on. But what you do not see are facilities as jetties, cranes and forklifts. All ships are loaded and unloaded with manpower (usually with temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius).

I made many pictures and made a selection which I hope to post in a number of batches. Let me know if it gets boring ….
