January 14, 20179 yr Popular Post A few more Bagan views! Cotton drying out on a side street. Horse and cart down by the boat port. Trees along any streets was well thought out, obviously long ago, they really make a difference with the shade!

January 16, 20179 yr Popular Post Myanmar - Lashio Would like to share some of my pictures made during a visit to Lashio. Lashio is the largest town in northern Shan State, about 200 kilometres north-east of Mandalay. The population is made up of mostly Shan, Chinese and Burmans. Had lunch on my way to Lashio.
January 17, 20179 yr Popular Post Some of Yangon ghetto area ... to avoid the constant traffic tie ups around the main roads of Yangon our taxi driver used the "less scenic" routes, driving through the shanty town areas... I should mention the taxi driver was my guide's brother and all trips were free! So not a case of a doing tours to up the price of the ride! sorry a little blurred taken from moving vehicle! One of the main water pipes headed into the city...
January 18, 20179 yr Popular Post Myanmar - Lashio When walking around, via via, I met a very friendly somewhat older man. He had a car and I asked him to drive me around and bring me to places he liked. It turned out to be a very interesting deal and the results will be shown in the next series of pictures. First a Temple. Just outside Lashio was a Temple which was opened shortly before I arrived. Everthing was new and shiny.
January 19, 20179 yr Myanmar - Lashio New Pagoda outside Lashio - continued. This is the chairman of the Pagoda's board of thrustees. A very froendly and nice man.
