Court disposes  of forgery case against former TV host Sirayuth

BANGKOK: -- The Criminal Court today ordered the deposition of the case against former well-known TV host Sorayuth Suthassanachinda on charges of  forging and using fake documents after ruling that the state prosecution is a double jeopardy.

 

The court’s order came as the lawyers of the former TV host and two other defendants appeared in the court to hear the charges filed against them by the prosecutor.

 

Four were accused in the case involving the cheating of airtime amounted to 138 million baht of MCOT Plc.

 

They are Sorayuth and two executives of his  Rai Som Co, and a former employee of the state owned MCOT Plc.

 

Today only the former MCOT employee Mrs Pichapa Iamsa-sard, appeared in the court to hear the charges.

These news outlets really need to get some native-language proofreaders.  I'm pretty sure the court deposed witnesses not disposed the case?

But if the story was about police it would be correct.

"The court reasoned in its deposition of the case that the four defendants have already been convicted to prison terms on the charges and now they are on the appealing process."

If they win the appeal, then there's no double jeapordy with forgery and fake documents. Seems premature to drop those charges.
