They didn't use all of the army's resourses, just a few, the majority were available to keep you safe.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of it the practice has been made illegal so they are just doing their job

Most people will not care at all.

Only it shouldn't be the army's job to enforce civilian laws.

But sadly, no one seems to have told the BiB that is actually their job.

I guess these guys didn't pay their dues.

Almost anything goes on Thong Lor

Underage drinking, smoking in restaurants, alcohol sales 24 hours a day, mafia receiving up to 200 baht for each car by controlling parking spots, drunken, brawling, gambling motorbike taxi drivers and I guess many other things that I haven't seen.

Oh yes Sisha smoking of course.

Only 2 or 3 weeks ago, I saw 20 or 30 heavily armed soldiers "escorting" police in a raid on Ekamai/Thong Lor. I don't really know what it was about but I suspect it was drugs as I have often seen the police hiding behind cars in that soi.

A lot of critical comment is questioning  the role of soldiers doing policing work. Perhaps that's because the Generals cannot trust the police to do the job.

No, I think they may be alluding to certain ethical principles being violated here. Maybe the police could take over military duties as the military seem to be rather busy sticking their noses into the business of civilians?

They should be busy driving buses from Laem Chabang to Bangkok.

The government in this country is now a military jaunta. Of course it is the job of the army to enforce the laws.
