I don't recall a reading this bad this early in the burning season.  Usually it's February when it starts getting bad.  An reason why?

Have you had strong winds recently?  Just like dust in the home winds can get things into the air outdoors.  Expect things are starting to dry out and can become airborne easier?

Lots of air pollution now in Mae Sariang...

there is always some air pollution this time of year as the rice farmers have already burned their fields...the mtn clearing starts in January...

in relative terms it could be the temperature hasn't been as cold as usual so the air pollution is pushed down from the atmosphere due to warmer temperatures as what happens in March and April...

people need to remember the air pollution is always present moving around in the atmosphere...it accumulates over time with burning and other forms of pollution generation

was the same this month last year, burn before its illegal in february

...and lots of rain this year so everything has grown more, lots of stuff to burn.

BUT, the numbers in mesquite's post number 4 are tame and well within WHO guidelines.
