PM tells law enforcement officials not to talk about Dhammachayo case

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha on Tuesday put a gag on all police officers on issues regarding Wat Dhammakaya and its former abbot, Phra Dhammachayo, saying that the main focus now is to let the due process to take its course.

“This is a normal process. When there is a court warrant, an arrest warrant, a warrant or a search warrant, it must be implemented. There is no need for me to emphasize or to give extra instructions,” said the prime minister.

“As head of the government, I wish to reaffirm that any decisions made – whether they are right or wrong – are matters of justice process which we cannot use sentiment to make the judgements,” said the prime minister, adding that the legal process must proceed.

The prime minister, however, noted that the last thing he wanted to see regarding the Dhammakaya affairs is internal conflict among the Buddhists.

Well, how about acting on it ?

Very sad that this episode has tarnished the ability

of the law of the land to function as due process requires.

Claiming sanctuary in a church was abolished in England in 1623,

but here it must be still the norm, as we have seen from Mercedes drivers,

abbots and so many more, I have lost count.

Marching reds and yellows would be met with strong arm tactics

but wearing the disguise of orange, is a game changer.

Respect for all the good things done by the government just gets belittled.

Stop talking everyone as I'm the only one permitted to say stupid things in public !

Look at the last sentence in the story above, what a great excuse for feet dragging if not burying this.

Can't have conflict amongst Buddhists.

Why does the PM want them to stop talking about it???

They are not able to carry out their duties, so talking is the only thing left.

Maybe they think that they can shame Dhammachayo into giving himself up just by talking about it.

Because if people keep bringing it up, it won't go away quietly like they're hoping.

No problem then as some of the players seem as Buddhist as the Pope.

Is the Pope a Catholic?

Yeah, put a sock in it, or a gag-ball.

Loathe as I am to agree with the junta chief, even he seems to have enough astuteness to realise what dicks they are making themselves look and wants them to pack it in.

The "powers-that-be" (some, not all which is what is causing this stand-off) have such a hard-on for the Dhammayuttika Nikaya sect (yellowish orange robes) that they have to wipe out or marginalize both the Mahanikaya (reddish orange robes) and the new-age Dhammakaya sect.

Anyone who thinks this is about money-laundering, or a vintage car, is easily fooled.

Very Sentimental!

The NACC should get involved as another part of due process with charging the National Police Commissioner with willfull negligence to carry out a lawful search and arrest warrant. Thus far, only the courts have done their duty while even Prayut refuses to take direct action to insure the arrest of the abbot.

But it seems that Orange is the new Blue.

The last thing that the Great Defender wants to see is anything that would damage the nexus between "church" and state.

Hand in hand they keep the people of Thailand firmly under control.
