Can anyone recommend an English speaking lawyer in Chiang Mai, who is familiar with property law, in particular with condominium law ? Thanks.

Kuhn Sumalee is still somewhat active but it's almost impossible to get her attention these days, the OP may want to explore the UK or US Embassy lists of lawyers in CM.

One of Opals nieces is a lawyer who graduated from CMU with honours. She is down in Phuket overseeing contracts for a condominium developer there.

( Better commercial law than a family law parasite, I say).

You can PM me and I should be able to facilitate contact if the basis of your requirement is solely enquiry orientated and not requiring an actual physical representation.

Best I can offer.

I'm also looking for a new lawyer in CM, if anyone has somebody they can recommend, the issue is property related.  I've been happily using the services of Kuhn Sumalee for many years but it's now time for a change!

Not yet and as you know it's a minefield out there trying to find a good one. I'll do some checking on the embassy list firms and start to ask friends for pointers and will let you know asap. If you don't hear from me within say seven days, give me a nudge, holidays may however interfere somewhat.

Without personal experiences and recommendations it's just another big expensive office building that needs to be paid for and a web site with poor English.

Thanks for your effort however.

EDIT TO ADD:

The UK Embassy list draws a blank on Northern Thailand.

Looking through the internet reveals lots of law offices here advertising visa and immigration work, personally I wouldn't even consider such a firm since that's nothing more than high fees for easy work.

Many a website with poor English in Thailand, a phone call may be justifiable before eternally striking off the list.

OP hasn't indicated whether his requirement is in an advisory or conveyancing capacity.

An easy and informative site regarding condominium laws which may be of assistance

It seems the law firm quoted above is top end of the market and may be very pricey, the lawyer used to be Dean of Payap Law School, or so prior posts on TVF suggest, the question is whether the legal work involved is actually worth the cost.

Any comments on this referral and the pricing?

Did you actually get a chance to go and see them like mentioned in ID15?

Was wondering about how they describe themselves on their website

Legal& Business Associates Law Firm is the oldest and one of the largest law firms in Chiang Mai.

Yet the team would appear to consist of Dr Ketthai Langkarpint (being the principal), Ms Bunthida Danintha (being a practice lawyer) and a nameless legal secretary.

The rest of the "About Us" on the website gives an impression of a "Boston Legal" or "Silk" type enterprise, most interesting.

Previously, resulting from your work and initiative a pinned subject Recommended Doctors And Medical Specialists was created.

Personally think Legal Service Providers should be also a be pinned topic as it covers many important areas people may need at one time or another (at times on short notice).

Merry Xmas, HNY to you and family.

No but I have a meeting on 27th. and will post and let you know - good idea BTW about a pinned list of lawyers, probably very hard to validate however.
