Four killed in a car accident in Chumporn

CHUMPORN: -- Four people, including the driver, were killed and scores were injured when a pick-up truck crashed into the gate of a house located on the roadside in Chumporn province on Monday morning.

Police suspected that the driver, later identified as Apisit Noiwaree, 39, was driving at high speed when it crashed into the alloy gate of a house in Tambon Wang Pai.

The truck was carrying more than 10 Myanmar workers from Ranong province toward Chumporn province.

I can drive fast in straight line

but can not stay in my lane to go round corner

I do not understand mass & speed

no time to indicate I go fast so no problem

Police only concerned  if Myanmar workers are legal

dead is dead, being legal will not matter,

add this tragedy to the very long list of wasted life

caused by incompetent drivers.

They don't teach physics at Grade 1 to 6. So, no knowledge about Newton's laws nor about inclines and friction. Their brains can only say - brakes no work...

This accident would probably not not have happend had he had his headlights turned on as per the advice of the The Council of Engineers.

My guess would be that there will not be too many fatalities reported this 7 dangerous days....not good for the image of Thailand......but we can still reckon on 50-70/day!

I know that road well and it is horrible. Even the sensible driver is taking his or her life and those of their passengers in their hands literally every time they use it. Nobody round here is even remotely surprised at this incident, which falls under the category of a shrug and a 'What do you expect?' when mentioned.

I gave up driving here too dangerous....

the whole of Thailand is the same....Dangerous....

Exactly...when I decided where to live permanently, I looked for a place that was within walking distance to a hospital, mall, food, sidewalks, and a market...I try to stay off the roads as much as possible...

It never ceases  to amaze me when I see many workers piled into the back of pickups or lorries . They are treated like cattle . Also young men who sit on top of the cargo which is piled high in the pickup .  Police turn a blind eye , however when I was told to pull over at a police check they tried to fine me because my partner never had her seatbelt on ( she was looking for her i.d. in her handbag )

According to Mrs baboon, it was caused by the driver attempting to evade the police.

I feel very sorry for the relatives of the Myanmar workers and their friends.

The ASEAN community didn't start well, even when Thailand postponed it for one year.

No reason to get others killed, if that's true.

The problem was that he was eventually listening to the Ministry of Saving Energy Admirals.

Yes, treated like cattle because they are viewed as a commodity rather than as people. In some ways expendable, certainly replaceable, rarely regularised in respect of legal status and the overriding considerable of the employer is profit ( and consequently the comment above about evading the BIB has a ring of likelihood, if not truth, about it).

Well, the latest rumour and I do stress RUMOUR, is that the police shot out the tyres..
