On a fraud they don't make you pay.  They write it off and send you a new card.  Chase Visa.

Personally speaking, I have been ripped off 2 or 3 times in the bar named after an Irishman who travelled (let it remain nameless!), overcharging is common (check your bill carefully) and yes, wrong change given has happened to me there too.

Ripped off 2 or 3 times? Why do you continue to trade with them?

Never had my card ripped here, but they got me once in Mexico for a tank of gas. Chase made good on it.

The no exchange fees and points are nice as well...

In a similar vein, but unrelated to this place, around 10pm thursday, i went to enter a well known go go just outside of cowboy. A group of 4 japanese in front of me were made to pay 100b each. The door guy asked me for a 100b i asked in thai 'what for?' He replied 'entrance fee.' The money was going into a plastic bag which had a decent wedge of 100s (10k+?!)

i walked back to cowboy, few more beers there, then an hour or so later walked back to said place, no entrance fee asked for, walked in as per usual.

Its possible that the idea was the 100b bought you a party popper/streamer thing, as later on one of the door staff was walking around trying to flog em for 100b, but the japanese in front who paid before me didnt get anything and as i said the reply was 'ka khao'.

Dunno if its a scam by the door staff or sanctioned by the owner (trying to sell the streamers) either way it was a first for me.

Stickman reported a new 100 entrance fee into that very same gogo in his latest column.

There's no entrance fee.  They're asking 100 baht for streamers, just decline it and walk in.

I've been short-changed in GT also, watch your check-bin.

 Fair enough.

They didnt offer a streamer and said it was an entrance fee.

After telling me its ค่าเข้า, just walking through them didnt seem an option.
