What's replaced Manathai Village Hotel?

Featured Replies

Someone asked me what has replaced the former Manathai Village Hotel that was in

Tapae Rd Soi 3 until a couple of years ago.  Any ideas?  Is it still a hotel?

Nothing replaced it.  Unless you count some grass.

Which is actually a little puzzling:  a hotel makes lots of money.  Of course a bigger hotel makes even more money, but growing grass for two years and counting makes no money at all.

Maybe ran into some trouble with building permissions, funds, etc.    Still puzzling though because they could have worked through that while making lots of money on the old property.

Would probably take some interviews with neighboring houses to find out the details.  Anyone interested enough to go do that?

It was definitely up for sale  around the time it was demolished but don't know for sure if it actually sold or not. Heard some gossip , who knows if its true. Would of thought keeping it there in situ would of made sense for whoever owns it. Makes the gossip seem kind of plausible.

^ What would the potential predicament have been?

For a plot that size that means a very major investment. Several hundred million baht potentially.
