A girl talks to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha as he distributes souvenirs to young visitors to Government House on Children’s Day yesterday.

CHILDREN all over the country were out and about joining in fun activities laid on for them by public and private sector to celebrate National Children’s Day yesterday.

At Government House in Bangkok, where many youngsters were given a chance to sit on the prime minister’s chair, third-grader Chawalvit Boonme of Wat Chumsaeng School in Chumphon’s Sawee district became the first to sit on the premier’s seat.

“I’m so happy and excited. I want to take a photo with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. I dream of becoming a defence minister one day,” the nine-year-old boy said.

The inspirational Leader said that he wants to see 'virtuous children with analytical skills'.

'Virtuous' here means doing what they are told and believing every word they are told by their 'government'.

'Analytical skills' means knowing (never questioning) that 2+2 = 5. This will prime the children for acceptance of the wise, truthful words, dictats and directives of their very moral 'government' - all their way through life (as a lifetime is how long this 'government' will last - unless real analytical skills and actions are developed and brought to bear on the situation ...).

'Prayut urged parents to create inspiration for their children and teach them to set a life goal – rather than just giving them money – and to encourage them to learn essential skills, especially the English language.'

That was a quick turnaround on his vision of making Thai the international language.

If the 9 year old really said this and it was his on free will to say this, I fear for the future of Thailand, now more than ever!

I wouldn't give it too much thought. He probably wants to be a pilot or a football player today.

Inspire?  Don't have a dictionary handy, isn't the Thai translation actually indoctrinate?

Perfect comment: yes, indoctrinate, brainwash and lobotomise - as is attempted to be done to the whole nation!

And how can parents "inspire" the kids his style, if they don't know any kick boxing moves and don't have assault rifles, machine guns, and tanks for them to play with?

That's hardly the point. Can you imagine any 9 year old child saying this in a First World country?

Well, probably not a pilot if he watched the TV news this morning!

Nor a fire engine driver either.

But you're right, tomorrow...

“I hope the PM will visit my school one day. Many of my friends, who cannot come today, really want to see him,” said the boy, who along with three siblings had arrived before dawn.

The country is full of dreamers. When I was a kid I wanted Santa to bring me a bee bee gun. Had to start somewhere I guess. I never made it to defense minister. As I grew older I finally began to understand politics. I did not want to sell my soul to Beelzebub.

They've been doing that for years....by sending their daughters to work the bars in Pattaya.

cunning.

I read your reply using cunning and lingual and seem to have seen these words somewhere joined together but for the life of me I cannot remember where.

If you want the children to be inspirational, I have one bit of advice for you. Set the example. You could not possibly be less inspirational, and your administration could not possibly be less competent. If you set those out as your two goals, and tried very hard to do so, you could not do a better job than you are doing, in terms of achieving those two objectives.

And did I add the complete and utter destruction of the tourism industry? An industry that took 40 years to build, and that millions of your countrymen are dependent on?

Keep it up. Keep moving Thailand backwards.

Just teach the kids a simple right from wrong and let them decide the future of Thailand because they are Thailand's future not some brainwashed soldier boy views
