That is a completely diffrent question not for this thread. Why would I need to be an expert on what children think to see them enjoying themselfs. More to the point is what goes on in other people's heads thinking an innocent bit of fun is a way marker for the future. Or are you some form of expert on that?

dont need to be an expert to know what a child sees has a bearing on their adult life.

what they dont see they dont know then. i will agree its a great day out, but without letting the young boys

handling the guns.

That's your thoughts and your welcome to it. I had no problem letting my children boys and girls enjoy themselfs at annual military days including handling weapons and driving vehicles does no harm at all. Not everything a child sees has a bearing of how they will grow into adults with correct parental advise and explanations anything is possible.

My three eldest are all military as was I but never once did I influence there decisions. Nor did I want them to serve but they did and are. My son in Thailand is 13 he wants to join up again this his is own thoughts and decisions. But he if he does will join the British milatry.

"a good percentage of military families follow in foot steps."  But not because of family influence.

I think if you wait a moment you may experience a moment of clarity.

Thank you I am proud of all of them. But beacuse you have seen things does not mean children will think of anything like that by playing with supervised open day weapons.

You have no idea have you

Only people with no military experience are facinated by guns.  Once you live with them day in and day out, shooting, stripping and cleaning, and even sleeping with them the novelty soon wears off.  We could not wait to hand our weapons into the armoury, so that we no longer had the responsability of looking after them, and humping them about.  Nothing wrong with kids being introduced to their military and its equipment. Its not like the Thais are going to give a 9 year old a loaded Uzi.

I am just trying to point out that you have influenced your kids, but you are having none of it.

We are all influenced by our parents.
