On the back of the recent thread about what Thai expressions annoy you I recognized that I have actually adopted some Thai words, expressions and exclamation noises myself.

My last visit home to the UK was 10 years ago and even then I finished most sentences with "krub".

I was also asked why I was speaking slowly as if everyone I was speaking with was stupid. My healthy Liverpool accent has pretty much vanished as well. (That's a positive)

Now I tend to copy my wife's "urrr" when I agree with  her, out of habit now.

My other one is "som nam naaaa".

Ive also got used to putting ice in beer and i used to hate that.

Are there any habits, expressions that you've picked up and find hard to drop.

Ive also got used to putting ice in beer and i used to hate that.

I heard that ice in your beer ruins your short term memory.

Ice in your beer ruins the beer. It can also ruin your beer.

Driving at night with headlights off.

Whenever I pour cement I don't block it off until it sets so dogs and people can tread in it.

12 years later I still don't bother to redo it so we have tracks like Dinosaur footprints to admire.
