Only other bike to navigate the wet rock portion would be a trials bike with the world champ riding it. And still doubtful. Long Way round would have had much more success in portions of their trip if equipped with these. Thanks for posting.

The driven sidecar wheel is a real bonus.  I'd rather have one of those for my wife than the Wave and little blue trailer she currently uses around the farm and orchard. If the chair was removable I could make a carrier for the water pumps.   

 

Ps: Holly sh.te, I just looked up the price in Oz........Au$21k and up!

Back in the 90s after the wall came down the quality was very bad . and anyone that really wanted one hunted out a 1960s-70s built one ,

 

China built one too (BMW copy) but I do not know if it had a driven sidecar

It may have a friction clutch on the chair wheel just in case <deleted> happens!

Looks like a diff - which may not be a bonus - unless it's slippery or a locker.
