anon467367354
Maybe Thailand should take a look at diversity and see what it does for people. Certainly OK for Thai people to go to America almost broke and start a business and then be all over social media, but the farang are not good enough for them in Thailand. They talk about democracy but are not willing to allow equality. https://youtu.be/ZlBGx9Npl6A

I was thinking it and you plus several others have said it. Airline pilots usually have great health and disability insurance too. They pass all the medicals or they would not be in the job. They have huge incomes and apart from investments, do need a way to keep up that standard of living if something untoward happens in their life. I hope he is being truthful, but ya can't help but wonder........... Some things do not add up at first glance. Hope it all works out for him. We all need a crust to chew on. brucegoniners
There are some really evil people on this forum. Leave the poor guy alone and stop slamming him. Worry about your own miserable life, which is obviously quite miserable if you have anything negative to say about this man. You know who you are. Now go ahead, slam me, I can take it. I certainly don't though I do have a problem with so many negative posts on this and the other thread. The expression " Walk a mile in his shoes" might fit you but first you would have part of your legs amputated to wear the shoes. Idiom Definitions for 'Walk a mile in my shoes' This idiom means that you should try to understand someone before criticising them. Yes I do have a problem with that. We shouldn’t bend the rules for some guy who has no legs. What next, you’re an alcoholic so you can a 2 year visa. You’re fat so can ride a motorcycle with no helmet. You’re depressed so you can drive while drunk. He is not Thai so should not be working as a burger seller. If he gets no money here he should go back to his own country and not make it worse for the rest of us. I met Douglas Bader in a golf competition many years ago, he managed to play golf well without any legs. This legless illegal burger seller could go back to school, start a new career but no, he comes to Thailand to have an easy life, gets bored and sets up an illegal business. No Sir, he gets no sympathy from me. He could easily get a job in a local school teaching English.

When he retired he was working for Shell and demanded priority service wherever he went. He was disliked by all of the RAF groundcrew who had to work on the aircraft he flew in on. He treated airmen as skivvies and servants. During the war when he was in Colditz his batman was given the chance of repatriation but Bader refused to allow him to be released. When I was at Shawbury he came on an airday and everybody was forced to move out of his way including my FIL who had his right leg amputated when he was only 4, unlike Bader whose stupidity caused him to lose his own legs. When Kenneth More was playing him in the film, More refused to meet him on the set. He had a monumental ego as well. Sorry that this went off topic. NotThatGuy
TV members at their best: Bitter diatribes about other folk to distract them from their own misery. Let's pick a topic: Those damn Thai (males, drivers, youth, politicians) no respect for anyone, selfish and lazy. Those damn (Russian, Chinese, Arab) tourists. Low quality, cheap, loud and annoying! They should stay home they are ruining Thailand even worse than the Thai (males, drivers, youth, politicians) All Thai (women, sellers, taxis, national parks) want is money and will do anything to get it!!! The (people, tourists, places, dollar value) was so much better 100 years ago when I first swam here. Now we can add to the collection: That (farang, disabled, old man) probably deserved it. He is lying about everything is probably healthy and just wants attention. Now back to staying away from the comment section. He could support his Thai family and travel to Thailand with a visa like the rest of us. He must be very poor if he need to sell street food to survive. I agree with you on wishing the guy well, at least he was doing something productive. I would have liked to have tried his burgers. Perhaps some enterprising person will get in touch with him and partner up. If his burgers are good then a great opportunity to start a burger truck and make some real money. However, I disagree with you about Facebook. I think it's brilliant. It allows me to keep in contact with all my friends from all over the world, all the countries I've lived in, all the people I've met, people I went to school with, people I worked with and family around the world. There is no way I could do that for 1000+ people any other way. If I want to get together tonight with friends in Bangkok I can reach out to 20 or 30 guys and see who wants to go out and we can all discuss where and when etc Doing that by making phone calls would take hours. The only annoying thing about FB is that they want everyone to socialise, so if you take part in public groups then you have to read comments from people you may think are morons.
