New US president keeps economic experts worrying about policy changes

Economics experts in both the public and private sector have voiced concern over impacts on Thailand from policy changes after President Donald Trump sworn in as the 45th president of the United States Friday.

They were concerned about the effects the changes will have on the nation’s economy.

Bank of Thailand’s governor Wirathai Santi-Praphob conceded that he was concerned that the economic policies of the new US President will create a great deal of turmoil for the global economy.

International financial and capital markets will definitely be affected, he said and stated that the central bank will be closely monitoring the situation to see what will develop.

But he said overall, estimates are that Thailand’s economy will benefit from the economic policies of the new president but national exports will definitely take a toll from the trade restrictions that he plans to enforce.

Donald Trump’s tax policies on the other hand will directly affect global interest rates which will in turn affect Thailand as well, he said.

Well, let's wait & see ...
At least as far as Europe's concerned the USAs 'foreign investments' there are about level with the ones the other way round, for instance Dumps obvious bad-boys - foreign car-manufacturers plus supply-industry - create and uphold plenty of American jobs - hell, even China did so by buying up & reactivating iron-ore mines in the very US a decade or so ago - it's Economy 101, so let's see how well 'Amorica First' will sit there ...

Did he already trump-dump all his advisers?

'Cause someone oughta tell 'the man' to cut his still continued election battle yadda-yadda, the Gotham-city-drivel about 'giving the powa back to the people' is gettin' sort of old and remains yet to be seen anyway.

And why is he talking that slow btw? A bit dyslectic or just so his followers can follow, well hopefully ...?

I would be worried to none of his red Trump hats were made in Thailand or in the USA (unless you paid $30 and ordered them from the Trump website profits of which go??). China, Vietnam and Bangladesh were the beneficaries . Yes made in America and providing jobs for Americans is off to a flying start.

Seems like a lot of foreign posts were told to vacate their positions at 12.00 p.m. Friday. They will sit vacant for a while till the Trump team gets around to filling them. Usually positions are extended but Trump is taking a sharp knife to everything.
