KEY RED-SHIRT leader Jatuporn Prompan yesterday voiced his support for the government’s effort to achieve reconciliation among conflicting political sides, saying it needs to be done before the next general election is held.

Jatuporn, who is president of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), said that his group wanted the country to move forward instead of remaining mired in a “circle of conflicts”.

He said he was ready to sign an agreement with the other conflicting parties to end their rift, as had been suggested by the government figures responsible for the latest reconciliation effort.

I'm sure his concept of reconciliation includes dropping his long overdue court case.

And junta's concept of reconciliation is there will be no court case for them regardless of anything they do, past presant and future.

Hmmm that's fair huh?  live rounds boy's load up and bang away...

My, my, how a few days in the slammer can change a man's rhetoric...

Hitler wrote a book after a few months in Prison but never changed the rhetoric just his style of delivering it until opportunity gave him an opening. You can suppress ideas but you cannot kill them.

Or, what's his hidden agenda?

Perhaps he's hoping that the reconciliation process will make opportunities for mouthing off again, and/or gain approval for the paymasters son to get the TV channel back in full twist.

While I find Jatuporn to be an unsavory character I don't think a comparison to Hitler is in order.

"...Jatuporn said that his group wanted the country to move forward instead of remaining mired in a circle of conflicts..." !!!

While we seem to have drifted onto a Hitler-theme, as history has so dramatically shown, it requires more than just the mere signing of an agreement to ensure a peaceful outcome...

Exactly; whatever these misfits sign will not be worth the paper it's written on.

The concept of Jatuporn writing a book, even a comic, is certainly comical. What lofty ideas would he express, besides get Thaksin an amnesty?

Well, he might suggest that the leaders of the UDD, including himself as President, actually stand for election rather than be mysteriously and secretly appointed.

Nah, he might not win. Can't have that.

More likely crawling and toadying for being granted bail again and hoping to sweeten things before his future trial.
