I'd better stop wearing Emporio Armani just in case the cleaners and condo security arrange to have me kidnapped for ransom.

Maybe not such a drastic outcome but it may well stop them sniggering behind your back.

Yeah that's matters so much to me because the need to please an Isaan farm hand's sense of fashion is integral to my overall look

Whats the size got to do with thngs. One bullet casing, either thats all there was or that was all that could be found. What are you on about man???

He already explained that. A .38 is a revolver round. Revolvers don't eject casings. So if a .38 revolver was used, there wouldn't be any casings left behind unless the shooter tried to reload at the scene and dropped one. Based on the CCTV video, he didnt do that.

So you are saying the weapon used is unknown and the .38 casing is from a prior assassination, gunfight, or just target practice in the same parking lot?

Regarding the Porsche, it was discussed very recently how and if you could cross into Cambodia via the land borders in an expensive vehicle like a Porsche, being a farang at the wheel and owner. There is a clue there somewhere. Follow what happens to the vehicle, who gets it, and you will have a clue as to who ordered the hit.

While laughed off, the Work Permit is also a clue. Who took care of it for the deceased or was he working illegally? Follow the trail of the "agent" who got it for him if same exist. They will have again clues as to his connections.

Just trying to help. God Bless all victims, both living and deceased.

Do we know if the deceased had a criminal record from his home country?

He probably had a different name in his home country, if he is a criminal type.

The point I was making, if he is indeed the international boiler room crim that is being speculated, they are not usually the type who do tax returns and enroll to vote etc. He would have flown under the radar at home, possible aliases etc. Do you think boiler room guys use their own name when bringing in potential customers.

You was replying to a question about if he had a criminal record in his own country. Nothing about voting or Tax returns or in the boiler room. , but whatever.

He was on trial for boiler room charges lol..

Kenway’s wife Somporn, 32, told police her husband recently had a business conflict with a former shareholder in their website design company at Jomtien beach but did not know if it was the motive for the murder.

A source close to the investigation said Ms Somporn’s statements corresponded to the findings that Kenway had interests in a football gambling website which led him to a conflict with another group of foreigners. Kenway had met the group twice to try to settle their differences but to no avail. This might be the motive for the killing, the source said.

Kenway was known to police and immigration officials as in 2015 he had been arrested and charged with working without a valid work permit and employing aliens. He was on bail and awaiting trial for these offenses.

Additionally journalists have now discovered that Kenway had an interest in a ‘call-center operation,’ otherwise known as ‘boiler rooms,’ that were established to encourage foreigners to invest money locally in business and property.

It is a matter of record that these phony investment schemes led to the losses of millions of baht for victims and in September 2016 Kenway was arrested and charged with fraud.

He denied all charges and, despite officials encouraging him to leave the country, he insisted he was innocent and wanted to stay and face trial later in the year. Kenway was on police bail at the time of his murder. His next court appearance was scheduled for February 23.

Nong Prue police called in Ms Somporn and six witnesses for additional inquiries on Wednesday. Pol Maj Jeerasak Aabfang, an inquiry officer, declined to comment on the progress of the case, saying only that the slain businessman had four houses but lived with Ms Somporn at a housing estate in Bang Lamung.

Other than all that he doesnt appear to be involved in anything suspect, lol

I dont know where he found the time for the website business.

Chon Buri police are launching a manhunt for a Briton and a South African who are suspected of some involvement in the murder of a British businessman in Pattaya, a police source revealed.

The source said police are looking for Miles Dicken Turner, a British passport holder, and Abel Caldeira Bonito, who bears a South African identity.

The pair had used their ID’s to rent a white motorcycle seen on security cameras being used by the gunman and his getaway driver.

The unidentified gunman shot and killed Tony Kenway, 39, on Tuesday.

The source said Turner entered Thailand for the first time on November 25 at the Suvernabhumi Airport and left again on November 26.

He re-entered Thailand on January 19 through an immigration checkpoint in Trat and left Thailand again via the same Trat checkpoint on January 24, hours after the killing

Bonito entered Thailand for the first time on January 19, also through the Trat border checkpoint, and left the kingdom via the same checkpoint at the same time as Turner.

not really surprised about the events.  The number of cars mentioned in other posts and now these further details. "Web design" websites don't make the amounts of money to support the lifestyle the man was apparently leading.  Booking and gambling are bad and dangerous enough, but to do that in a very unregulated and wild wild west country such as Thailand, well, things ran their course.

Awful lot of mice doing the rounds on the forum today.

Apparently, driving a Porsche in Thailand is effectively begging for a knife between the shoulder blades.

Any outward displays of modest wealth could see you fall foul of both Thais and jealous foreigners.

I'd better stop wearing Emporio Armani just in case the cleaners and condo security arrange to have me kidnapped for ransom.

Any outward display of modest wealth does make you more of a target.  To think otherwise is foolish.

Here I am looking out of the window of my 6th floor condo, WOW a pig just flew past...............

About as likely to happen as two Farangs hiring a bike, giving all the correct ID, then "borrowing" the bike to a couple of Thai's who whilst riding around just happened across a rich Farang in a Porsche and thought, let's kill this guy!

Get real folks <deleted>.

Yeah seems odd.  Having been ex old time USAF, we used the little .38 revolver.  As you say, unless you spin out the cylinder the casings stay where they are.  I suspect the assertion that it was a .38 is just incorrect.  Or maybe it was a .38 and some sort of home made .38 gun.  Just because I am familiar with the standard old fashioned .38 revolver doesn't mean the hitman used one of those.

You can Google. 38 auto pistol and hundreds of them come up. Not all .38 guns are revolvers.

Maybe in Pattaya being successful "brings attention" but it doesn't in Bangkok.

Just two youngish farang guys I can think of off the top of my head drive expensive German and Italian sportscars around this neck of the woods.

One's an ex-banker from Switzerland, the other's into some sort of AI or high end software.

They don't have problems, they don't have bodyguards, they're not being extorted and there aren't any Thais trying to assassinate them for competitors or envious losers.

But that doesn't mean they have not increased their risk of having problems.  In my humble opinion flash is dangerous.  They are free to continue as they wish
