Revenue Office Report 2017......

Name 10 adjectives that describe Promenada.    Now, take the opposite of each.  That's how my Revenue Office was today.  Coincidentally, my refund is enough to pay for the 40 THB it cost to get there, the 15 THB it cost to get back, my recent 1900 extension fee, the 1600 for the TM 30 confession and fine, and I bought a Kg of rice on the way home with what was left.  Life is good!

I didn't know there is Revenue Office at Promenada?

That notwithstanding, your post is the first time ever that I've ever heard anyone say anything negative about their experiences at Revenue offices anywhere in Thailand.

Would you care to explain some of the detail or shall we just put it down to something you said/did and/or you having a bad day and needing to rant, again!

These little reports of peoples highly eventful excursions are so thrilling.  It is like Facebook people talking about themselves and KKK is so wonderful to include his accounting of every stang.  Imagine how it would be if everyone started new threads about their daily outings.

You clearly can't read.

KKK said that his experience at the Revenue Office was clearly the opposite of what he experiences @Prom. and the refund he obtained (presumably from interest earned on his Thai bank accounts) was more than enough to pay for the fees he'd have to pay when he next visited Imm. Prom for his visa extension.

Gheesh, some people just want to attribute negative posts to people they don't like, I suppose.

I agree the people at the Revenue Office are real sweethearts to deal with.

No this is relevant.  It points out that Thai gov't agencies do know how to run offices efficiently.  Why not Imm. Prom?

That is nothing new, for example it has been long and well known or at least widly thought that other Immigration offices operate efficiently, Land Transport is efficient for payment of taxes and many other functions, passport office is great, and, and....

Heck, I read his post multiple times and I couldn't quite figure out what he was saying.  Thanks for the translation!

But I do agree that the Revenue Office people I've dealt with here are a very friendly bunch and, unlike Immigration, very easy to deal with and efficient.  Great public servants.

good question for google

I thought so, too. But google gave me no explanation of why a farang would be getting refunds.  Anyway, I'm sorry to have distracted you from the important work you're doing.  Keep it up. We're all depending on you.

A "farang" or any other foreigner for that matter might be getting refunds if they have investments and bank accounts in Thailand and the institution withholds income tax.  If your account balances are high enough, it can be worth it to file a Thai tax return to claim a refund.  Believe me, compared to filing a U.S. tax return, it's a piece-of-cake form to complete.

If a foreigner owns rental condos in Thailand, they should also be filing a personal income tax return to claim that income from that rental property.  Many don't, which could explain the reluctance of some owners to cooperate in submitting TM30 reports to Immigration.  In this case, they'd owe taxes to the Thai gov't.

So Google answered the question you asked but not the one you did not ask but subsequently came up with so you get smart ass. Excellent thinking.

When referring to Promenade I was referring to the place there which is absolutely the only reason nine of ten   farang ever go there.  I hold them partially responsible for not having as much as a candle lit in that pitch black waiting area at the times it is necessary to start queing.  It creates a big hazard for anyone there.  I'm boycotting the place, but its inconvenient location makes that easy.  Sorry I used multiple syllable words, but what a surprise that no less than six  replies came from those on my ignore list.  Nancy understood 100% and both of us are college educated, so the others can keep on grunting, but making picture books instead of posts aimed at educated readers simply isn't my style.

Well, back in the day when I was posting photos of the queues and goat pens @Prom on ThaiVisa it resulted in unpleasant visits from Thai Immigration police.  Apparently, they can't read either, but they do notice pictures.
