BANGKOK: -- Gina Yashere, a Nigerian-British comic that’s been featured on the BBC, Comedy Central, The Conan O’Brien Show and The Tonight Show, plays Sunday at Comedy Club Bangkok.

The award-winning comedian’s routines focus on her experience being of Nigerian descent but born and raised in London. Her hilarious stories about feeling like an an outsider are something that many expats, immigrants and travelers will relate to all too well.

In addition to jokes about trying to find her roots in both the UK and Africa, she talks about how she causes confusion when she travels abroad, and how people don’t expect to hear a Nigerian woman speak with a heavy English accent.

Popular? Never heard of it before.

She's famous.  She once appeared on a Tesco Mobile TV advert.  She's also renowned as a lift maintenance technician.
