Heard on the grapevine that someone has started flying to Clarke airforce base near Angeles city ( Philippines) from U-tapoa airport. Does anyone have any info or is this just bullshit bar talk

bullshit bartalk, the same rumour has been flying about for over a year now, it is suppose to eventually happen, but like you i'll believe it when i'm on the plane.

It's true. Join the US Special Forces Airborne Group, Detachment Alpha 125 and you could fly for free on a C140. They fly regularly between Clarke Base and U-Tapao and back of course.....and have been flying this route for many years. But don't expect any "Air Miles" or other frequent flyer perks!! :o

Few years ago IPA an AOC holder was flying Charters from Clark using Il-86 aircraft. Heard through some buddies at Clark that AASI also a Philippine AOC holder was considering flights on this route using LET 410s. :o

Sorry Phil, no business class and no champagne; not even a dolly bird stewardess....but you do get to have your own parachute. :D
