PATTAYA: -- An old English tourist got a Valentine's Day shock when he was enjoying himself in private with a young lady at a Pattaya A-Go-Go bar.

There was a knock on the door of the short time room upstairs but the tourist wouldn't open up.

So "Nai Ampher" Naris Niramaiwong and his raiding party of police and soldiers outside the door had the room opened up by the management to see what was going on, reported Manager Online.

Inside the room was the 62 year old tourist sleeping with one of the dancers from downstairs at the Windmill Club A-Go-Go. Neither of the couple was named.

They were both told to get dressed and were interviewed downstairs to determine what was happening.

The district chief was out with his raiding party who had split up all over Walking Street, South Pattaya in what Manager online said was a "crime suppression drive for Valentine's Day".

Manager added the purpose of the drive was to create warm feelings of contentment among tourists visiting the area.

Apart from the Englishman and the Thai lady in the short time room the raiders also found other evidence at the Windmill.

By the toilets was a tell-tale sign in Thai that read: "Please close the door gently as guests get startled causing a loss of erectile function ...na kha! And if you are using your phones please do so away from the short time rooms".

A picture was taken of this further evidence before the manageress, Malin Kaewwichian, was arrested and charged with running a sex

business on the premises without a license.

The raiding party then moved on to check other establishments in the area.

Happy Valentine's Day.

Im absolutly certain that by the time the room was opened up he was NOT caught with his pants down. Usual innane reporting, rambo-esque officialdom, and an ethos chairman Mao would approve of.

Can you recall when the 'Land of smiles' underwent this osmosis into the 'Land of surreal stupidity'?

Why? It's his business. This is the kind of place that Thailand has become. From a couple of decades ago, when you could have the time of your life, and nobody would judge you or interfere, to now, when the local plod will most likely have their ear glued to your door, and all the neighbors are spies and gossiping busybodies.

Something tells me they failed.   If anything, this throws a pretty wet blanket over the area.

What next, busting down hotel room doors throughout Pattaya looking for tourists having a good time?   Complete morons.
