Computer repair shop that fixes/replace motherboards

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Suddenly my laptop would not boot , it will not even let me click F2 to check the BIOS settings.  I removed the hard drive and ram and thats not the problem so it got something to do with the motherboard.

I tried MTEK Notebook repair shop next to Computer Plaza but they could not help me. "missing spare parts" was their response.

I really want to try fixing or even replacing the motherboard , its an expensive laptop. Samsung brand.   Any recommendations here in CM ? Thanks.

Try Magic 3rd Floor Pantip Plaza.

They specialise in Macs but do PC's as well.

Good people have done several jobs for me.

Positive  attitude and not expensive.

Their junior is by 10 and owner arrives by 10.30 he is very switched on.

Samsung service center.....north side of the most....they will send it to BKK.....the proprietary parts will have to be purchased through them, anyway...labor might be slightly more than the shops..a lot of people who upgraded from win 7 to win 10, did not win at all.  Google your model and problem....there is even a fix for the blue screen of death.

Not so sure about WIN 7 to WIN 10 but I went from 8 to 10 and have had no issues....  Extremely happy as WIN 8 was geared towards phones and touch systems.

To the OP : What do you mean by expensive? Something that was expensive 4-5 yrs ago may not be as expensive today and perhaps be higher performing. I generally buy a new mid-range laptop every 4-5 years anyway just to keep up with technology. If one would happen to 'croak' I wouldn't try to get it repaired unless it was a simple fix, I would merely buy a new one. After all these years I really have only abandoned one laptop and that was a POS HP loaded with Vista when it first came out. After that and losing an HP printer as well as an HP camera I have vowed to never touch an HP product again.

All my high performance work is done using my home desktop. That is where the power is. It was built with a selection of components for performance and durability. If anything happens to it I repair it myself....

Well  that has never stopped anyone from posting here.  I Googled "trouble upgrade win 10 on Samsung laptop," and got 5.8 million hits.

I must be lucky then as I didn't buy a Samsung laptop... They are only good for phones,TVs, and household appliances....

There is a small computer shop at Rimping Romchok.  It is on the second floor above the book store.  They successfully repaired a motherboard problem on my Acer.  500 baht. Speaks English.

Thanks for all the suggestions , its a Samsung ultrabook .

Suddenly my BIOS started working again . I could press F2 and when I installed back my ram and HDD it booted up as normal , so what really happened here?

The tech guy at MTEK must have done something , he looked at the motherboard , maybe he cleaned out some dust ? After searching a bit on google I found out that several users had the same problem as mine with BIOS freezing. If you reset something called VRAM it will "unfreeze" the old BIOS.

Just upgraded to the latest BIOS and all the drivers, it's still working.
