PEA, charging for repairs to their electrical system

Featured Replies

PEA is now charging for replacement fuses, connectors, I have had 2 customers charged for HV fuses replacment in/on thier power lines.

Imam in the process of trying tonfind out what is going on.

My understanding is that the line side HV is the responsibility of PEA,  after the meter is the customers, but this would not work either because many users are connected to the same Low Voltage fuse.

Lightning, trees, HV shorts, accidents with poles, high winds, shoddie workmandhip at installations, and i have many examplrs and photos.

Slow and unreliable service response to individual outages, rude and unprofessional service, unprofessional repaire, shoddy work, unsafe practices, I could go no and on, it is getting worse, plus the prices they are trying to charge sre rediculas. These people get paid to fix the problem, make the installation safe, advise the customer of what the problem is.

They do none of this, jack leg unsafe repairs which will fail in a short time allowing them to extort more money from the customer.

I am in the process of doing a thorough investigation of PEA responsinilities in thier service areas. I suggest that you call the call center in Bangkok fot all problems, they have a computerized record of your call and complaint, if you call the Samui number, Good Luck.

These service crews get paid to do a job just like you and I do, not that difficult, not that dangerious with proper training and equipmrnt.

PROBLEM IS they have the only game in town and know it!

As far as I'm aware, if you have your own transformer PEA will charge to replace the HV fuses, they have the proper kit, it's not something for the DIYer.

That said, anything in Samui does tend to be a law unto itself :(

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

If they did a proper job the problems would not happen again.

The excuse "This is Samui" is getting old.
