After the reporter suggested it Merkel asked if he wanted to. He already had done so. It's not a big deal, though I'm sure you want it to be.

It's not a big deal but it's not nothing either.

to me it was look on his face and his slumped over posture.   yes she asked him.  i hate to be told  what to do by photographers but he wanted the job.
