Our village electrician once told me thai electricity is different....doesn't need grounding.

Wow,  where did he get his electricians licence.     Village qualified??

He's a danger to society and will spread his myth everywhere, plus leave  a likely trail of accidents just waiting to happen eh?

I was nearly killed in Bkk from my wife's fridge that had a faulty compressor motor with 39 ohms from active to the chassis.

Only the typical  two pin plug on the power cord. That cabinet sure needed grounding.

The Residual circuit breaker Crossy mentioned would be one step better.

Thai electricity hurts just the same as Aus 240v. Tell me about it.

Does the USA have an earth on their appliances?
