Place to buy Power Adapter in CM

Featured Replies

Heading to Hong Kong where I believe they use the UK style power outlets and wondering where to buy a Thai to UK/HK adapter in Chiang Mai.

Pantip, Central Airport, Homepro any ideas?

Thank you.

Amorn

Thanks, just to confirm, this is the place right on the northwest corner of the old city near the beginning of Huay Kaew Rd?

Yes. Down about 100 meters from the corner. Also one in the old Carrefour - now Big C Xtra - on Superhighway frontage road east side, south of the 118

It's not on the corner....probably 300 yards east of Hua Lin corner and just east of Computer City.  Just google "Amorn Chiang Mai" and a map will pop up.

What power adapters are used in Thailand?

Where I come from we use the 3 pin ones (same as UK) - is it different there?

would be good to know as we are coming soon..

Same as US ( except here its 220v 50Hz.)  Two flat pin although newer outlets also have a round earth as well.   Amorn are also in Hangdong Road Big C.   Big C themselves and Tesco also stock adapters.

Not just US but the Euro round pins as well with combo points. Type A, B and C although sometimes type B (3 pin, 2 flat + grounding US style) are not supported.
