Khun Paul
Do you think for one moment that this man has any care for the men and women in his Royal Thai Army. beatings, torture and even death are covered up as a myriad of reasons, none of which shows that the Royal Thai Army cares one damn about the soldiers. Publish and be damned, especially in other countries, show the world just how draconian this country is towards it own citizens. Sorry Colonel the world is watching and you and your bosses do not like it, so change. simple .

tonywillo
So double your efforts to make sure there isn't a repeat of the abuse. Offenders disciplined? Should have been jailed or fined. Keep the videos coming make them up if you have to. Don't let honesty get in the way of a good video. Nothing like a sore point to work on to keep them honest. Krataiboy
With the mainstream media unable or unwilling to do the job, net citizens have become the eyes and ears of the free world - and need to do more, not less, to expose the wrongdoings of those who run out lives. Most of the "fake news" we are bombarded with is pumped out not on social media or internet blogs but by newspapers and television stations owned by a handful of giant communications conglomerates happy to toe the official line. If you want to learn the truth about anything - for example, who is behind the latest chemical weapons attack in Syria - you need to look beyond the popular Press and TV news channels. Last time around, they had to eat their words as the perpetrators turned out to be West-backed rebels! With governments and their corporate allies increasingly to stifle free speech in the alternative media and popular Internet sites such as YouTube, this is no time for the people's watchdog army of net citizens to start soft-pedaling on the scandals they unearth. In the words of the late and great British newspaper editor and proprietor, Hugh Cudlipp: "Publish and be damned!"

A very tiny minority, they could be crushed within hours if the people wanted. There are increasingly shorter intervals between these kinds of revelations of abuse and corruption. The army 's pleas to not share or talk about them in the main stream media and social media, in the name of national unity, peace and order, are becoming less weighty and influential. Each one saps their assumed authority. Being forced to back down on the seat belt/pick up enforcement is another ripple on the pond. They know they are on borrowed time. ramrod711
Netizens were asked by the army to not share a video clip featuring abuses against conscripts which has been circulating in the social media. Much better for the army to encourage sharing the video and thanking the public for shaming the perpetrators. I, at least would have much more respect for them. Encid
I read another interesting article about the Thai army recently: Half of military conscripts end up as servants: former MP Submitted by editor2 on Wed, 05/04/2017 - 14:30 A former member of the parliament (MP) from the Democrat Party says that more than half of Thailand’s military conscripts end up as servants for high-ranking military officers. On 4 April 2017, Wilat Chantarapitak, a former Democrat Party MP and former advisor to a parliamentary anti-corruption committee, told the media that the military conscription system in Thailand is in crisis. Wilat said mandatory military conscription is still necessary for national defence. However, it is riddled with corruption because more than half of the conscripts end up as servants in the houses of senior officers or in military cooperative shops. You can read the full story here. thhMan
The military in Thailand has done some real nasty stuff... They stole the country and it was run by one of those buffoons Until Thailand figures out that an IQ test score of over 100 should be a requisite in obtaining employment in any Govt institution including Military, then stupidity like this will continue Instead of a lottery to conscript soldiers, it should be school test scores, if it HAD to be forced upon people.... Getting the dumbest staff/soldiers is not exactly the smartest thing Just saying

Psimbo
This video was doing the rounds last yer as well- nothing new there. I don't think the Army has to worry about the public discrediting it, they do a good enough job themselves. Lets not forget the shooting of the activist 'drug smuggler' the other week and the fact that THAT video is being suppressed.!
