We are stopping in Singapore for one night in the way over to LOS, does she (Thai) require a Visa for the one night?

No! I put the rule in bold. Social Visit Pass will be for 14 days.

National THAILAND (TH) /Transit SINGAPORE (SG)

Destination THAILAND (TH)

SINGAPORE (SG)

Visa not required if:

- continuing to a third country within 24 hours; and

- holding confirmed onward ticket (not applicable to airline

staff travelling on reduced fare/standby tickets) and all

documents for next destination; and

- not leaving the airport transit area.

Hotel accommodation is available within the transit area of

Singapore Changi Airport.

If stay exceeds 24 hours a Social Visit Pass will be issued on

arrival (free of charge) provided holding confirmed return or

onward ticket and all documents for next destination.

From experience...

If you are nice and you can show you are married they will give her a 30 day visa the same as you. But you do have to ask.

My wife got a 30 day visa (on arrival) before we were married as I was working there, but it is very rare.

enjoy your stay blonco!!! The wife can buy somtam at the golden mile if she is in need. There is a good Thai resturaunt at Clarke Quay too.

Many things to do, start with shopping. I try to explain to my wife the meaning of

window shopping. Not understood, yet. :o

But let's face it, LOS is cheaper.

tukyleith, you are right with the 30 days, I did not mention as Bronco stays less than 24 hours.

Immigration either follows the confirmed ticket or the answer given in the immigration card, how long to stay. Social Visit Pass is similar to Thailand's 30 days visa-exemption. Just a chop in p/port and on immigration card.

Passport (must be valid at least 6 months on arrival) required.

Visa not required provided obtaining a Social Visit Pass on

arrival for a stay of 14 or 30 days (free of charge).

Extension of stay up to 3 months may be possible.

Fee for extension of social visit pass is SGD 40.-.

Visitor must hold:

- confirmed return or onward ticket and

- documents for re-entry into country of residence.
