Just checked online and there were 14 England capped over 3 decades.

ENGLAND
1907-1920 Sam Hardy
1907-1920 Jesse Pennington
1934-1957 Stanley Matthews
1958-1970 Bobby Charlton
1969-1980 Emlyn Hughes
1970-1990 Peter Shilton
1987-2000 Tony Adams
1988-2002 David Seaman
1997-2010 David James
1997-2011 Rio Ferdinand
1999-2010 Wes Brown
1999-2010 Jamie Carragher
1999-2010 Emile Heskey
1999-2014 Frank Lampard

Heskey and Wes Brown are surprisingly 2 of them.

Was looking through wiki yesteray and rooney exploits are nothing for england when compared with the previous generations.

Lineker and shearer for example.

Both had only about 7 years of international footy to get on the goals records.

Shearer retired - his choice. He wanted to win trophies with Newcastle.
