IMO: With absolute evidence such as this there is only one resolution here: Death Penalty.

This specimen simply needs to be removed from existence, by carrying out such a heinous crime he has proven he does not deserve to interact with humanity, he has proven that he should not be a burden on humanity and tax payers by keeping him fed, clothed and housed in a prison. Dispose of him.

Why are so many on here claiming only thais do this.

IIt is downright racist and utterly disrespectful to the country that has welcomed you and let you settle.

Not one reply on this thread says "ONLY Thais". If you Thai apologists would ONLY read the thread before reaching for the keyboards, and cry racist, Thai bashing, etc.. If the thread is too negative for your thin skin, then avoid it and only read positive threads.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate

The above reports the rate of 10.54 per 100000 in 2014. Quite an increase eh?

I saw that Wikipedia page when I was trying to find FACTS to compare US and Thai gun death rates. I didn't bother linking it though: The first thing I noticed was that Thailand was not on the list  The second thing I noticed was that the stats are from different years depending on country so not very scientific. "10.54 is quite an increase" It is for the US...and? Anyway, I'll stick with the university's research which is (I hope) based on the scientific method rather than a wikipedia article (you realise anyone can write anything without reference on wikipedia right) ;)

A jealous man has killed his wife/ partner.

It's that common a crime that it is classified in most developed jurisdictions as a crime of passion.

Stupid/.irrational ...yes and I hope he is punished to the the fullest extent of the law.

I do not agree that many posters on here have claimed that only Thais do this sort of thing, but it does seem to be very common here.

I also question your ridiculous "racist" charge as well as the "welcome" bit as the welcome appears to be wearing a bit thin.

Too bad that there are no anger management classes in Thailand.  Time in prison alone won't teach him anything.  Telling people "Jay yen"  doesn't supply people with any strategies to keep their cool.

We all know, in our countries, as soon as a coward is rejected, he shoots the lady.

Really? I didn't know that.  Guys get rejected and dumped everyday in Australia but can't recall the last time a guy shot a woman for it.  Maybe a lack of cowards down under.

If being rejected by someone was sufficient reason to shoot / kill them and this was the "normal" response, I would expect the population and balance between male and female to be very different from what it is.

Yes it does seem to be reported frequently, but this is far from a normal reaction. The man is just crazy.

Well if he confess, he will get 5 years only, sadly.

I just don't get it; your GF brakes up, why shoot her, who not just get on with your life?

Oh yes, this is a Thai male, lost face big time, nothing worse for them.

Farangs should be careful when hooking up with Thai g/f.  Do your due diligence and make sure she is not romantically linked to Somchai or Pornsak before taking the plunge.

I was wondering how long it would take to put this down to "Thainess".... didn't have to wait long, right from the getgo.

What rock have these posters been living under since they were born when they obviously think a "scorned" man in their own country would never shoot  a lady that rejected them.

Firstly this is not normal behaviour in "ANY"!! society.

Secondly it was stated that he had other kik's.

So let's think about the scorned lady RIP.

Some young lady has lost her life because he lost one of his hareem.

This is not a story about a man who has lost face.

ah but it will be a Thai prison

At least in Thailand they makes prisons and not hotels.

I certainly wouldn't ever want to go to a Thai prison.

However I am in favour of the death penalty when beyond any doubt like this case.

There is never any justifiable excuse for taking another persons life.

Wow....

As more and more Thai men unleash death and injury upon their wives, family, and girl friends in a  jealous rage, I think foreigners need to be more concerned now about retribution unleashed upon them by jealous Thai lovers.

If you get involved with someone, it might be wise now to ask if they are married or have a steady?  Even if they don't tell you the truth, at least you asked.

It is sad that crimes of passion, or what can loosely defined as "love triangles" lead to so many violent episodes, not restricted to the worst kind: murder.  There seems to be no middle ground for response, either people just let it go, or act out with extreme force. The lack of appropriate conflict resolution, or what can sometimes be called "passive/aggressive' responses seem to be culturally and educationally based.  Lack of critical thought come to fruition reaps horrible results.

No life in jail, he should go and meet his and her maker....

Maker? Certainty met his own parents already...and probably met hers. Though agreed...he does need to be executed.

The death penalty in Thailand and any country would keep people like this murderer from doing his

jail time, getting out only to do this sort of thing again in the future. Bring back the death penalty

for first degree murder.

Thailand has the death penalty. It's no deterrent.

Sure, things like this also happen in other countries as well, but certainly not as frequently as in Thailand.

Am I wrong ?

Just another prime example of the Thai male pushed into a corner of making a choice. They are always professional artists of making the wrong decision. Just because the other one needs to deal with a conversation, that is just not going to be a fruitful and intelligent one.

I've seen this scenario more times than i can remember, it stems from an individuals deep seated abandonment issues where they without fail get themselves involved with totally inappropriate partners who inevitably will betray  them or through the lovers extreme mistrust and jealousy imagine that there is something going on when there isn't . Because of the intense feelings that this heartbreak brings they will either kill themselves or their partner or both. Unfortunately where there are children involved the spouse will more often than not threaten to kill them also.

Its all very well to have an enlightened view of this Shakespearean tragedy but don't do the crime if you cant do the time. If he's lucky he might get an insanity plea to stand up ; if not he faces the long drop
